Gay Times stands as one of the world’s most iconic LGBTQ+ media brands - and one of British media’s most remarkable transformation stories. Tag took the helm in 2019 and rebuilt the publication from the ground up: new brand, new content model, new revenue architecture.

Following Tag’s transformation, GT became the number one LGBTQ+ media brand by social following and brand trust - reaching over 70 million people globally - and won Brand of the Year (twice!).

Today, Tag is Chair of GT Group, and GT commands its position as a cultural powerhouse. Tag is currently focussed on supporting the business’ strategy to develop a category-leading subscription product.

About Tag

Tag Warner
Early Years

Tag Warner grew up on the island of Jersey. He left to study at the University of Manchester, graduating with a first-class Honours degree. Alongside his studies, he spent his early career in aviation: including a stint at Heathrow Airport for Premium Services and the VIP wing.

An unusual start for a future Media and Technology leader, perhaps, but it instilled something that has never left him - an obsession with quality products, customer experience, and delivery excellence - and a deep fascination in how people work.

Career Beginnings

In 2019, at 24, Tag became CEO of Gay Times - one of the world’s most recognised LGBTQ+ media brands, and a title in need of transformation. What followed was one of the most significant reinventions in modern British media.

Tag rebuilt the brand from scratch: new identity, new content model, new commercial architecture. Revenues grew dramatically. The global digital audience reach surpassed 70 million. Gay Times became the number one LGBTQ+ media brand by social following, and brand trust - a position it had never held before.

The industry noticed. Under Tag’s leadership, GT won Brand of the Year at the British Media Awards and Brand of the Year at The Drum Online Media Awards. He was chosen to be part of Forbes 30 Under 30, The Raconteur Top 50 CEOs and guest lectureship at Harvard Law School.

In 2024, he founded wax Talent - a 360 agency built on the conviction that the next generation of culture-defining talent deserves representation that actually understands their world. It grew 280% year-on-year and was nominated Best Talent Agency at the 2025 ITV beCreator Awards.

Tag formalised both businesses under GT Group as a combined parent entity, then transitioned from CEO to Chair in early 2026.

Today

The next chapter is already underway.

Tag’s entrepreneurial conviction hasn’t changed. What is changing is the canvas size. Tag is now focussed on building out a portfolio of companies, business partnerships and talent opportunities across technology, media, and experiences, each distinct in category and execution but held to the same high standard.

Tag has recently signed with a leading literary agency to publish his first non-fiction work, due to be announced in 2027. He has also signed to a leading talent management agency.
